BLOOD & INNOCENCE: FEELING HELPLESS

I asked for three wishes to be fulfilled by Santa this Christmas, one of them was 24/7 safety for my lo. Reading through media reports and the day-after images have left me speechless. Also annoyed with media when i saw popping booms to take bytes of victim family and survivor. For god sake or say for humanity sake please be sensitive!
What made me write this post was the heart-wrenching poem shared by one of the FB Groups.  Could not stop and had to pour my heart out!

Am glad that I'm not in a position where I had to take coverage of this attack, yes I do remember the sleepless nights we had during Mumbai attacks and just like any media due to CTR and TRPs we were also looking at the numbers of dead, injured and so... but that phase still haunts.

Visuals and caption excerpts of a bloodshed all over auditorium, bullet-ridden wall, and small coffins; makes me 'still', 'numb', 'wonder', and yet again am 'HELPLESS'.

Unlike other applications which keep kids constantly glued to smartphone and undoing with other physical activity. It's a big leap to take kids out from virtual world to real world.

This application encourages them to create their own craft, make their favourite sweet treats and yummy food, put on their dancing shoes and learn few dancing steps, be calm and composed with the suggested yoga postures and lots more to explore.
I asked few of my mommy friends to give candid reviews, please take read and take your call.

Lakshmi: "very helpful and creative.. holds the babies attention while feeding food from start to end.. thanks for sharing this app with me :-)"
Jyoti: "Ideal App for Children in any group. It has a good and most important sorted collection of things which a child can enjoy. My son loves his art and craft, and this app is a perfect solution for him to tune his creativity"

Priyanka: "I feel that the craft part is very good and easy to make. But as its for a little elder kids so  I did not watch food and dance part so much and I rate it average."
Debolina: "Fundoodaa is really a 'fun' app to have on phone. I really like the Craft section. The DIY features were easy to interpret and try. Good collection of such fun stuff in a single app makes my life a lot easier as a mother."

Nidhi Jain, "Oh this app made my daughter go crazy. But am glad that now she is out of Candy crush and other addictive games. i found this app more creative and productive for kids. The best part is she also taught her dad to cook ;-) And the worst part is now she want to cook exactly like the anchor of the video"
After talking to most of the member of my motherhood community, I also got feedback that to request the FunDooDaa developers to create it for windows too. My windows moms don't want to be left out. For all IOS Windows users, you may watch DIY videos on FunDooDaa YouTube Channel.

Here's a link to our app - currently it is FREE to download.

All you mums must be busy with Christmas preparation and holidays. Am pretty sure that you all must be having some secret wishlist. When i asked my lo what do you want from santa? (she is just 2.5 , so she isn;t that familiar with term 'Wishlist) She promptly replied, "Mumma Fish". I was flabbergasted by her reply was wondering does she want it live in pond, or fried or roasted.. Phew! lots of thoughts were flashing in my mind. In a while she asked, "Mumma what do yo want from Santa Clocks? ( smiles, yes that's how she pronounce)

So below is my Wishlist all set to fly to Santa's mailbox in North Pole!

I have requested him to gift me uninterrupted meals/shower-time/washroom, "Magic machine" to organise my lo's toys, and 24/7 safety angel for my little princess.

Christmas Calling>> Sing-along Carols with your little Santa

Heylos to lovely moms out there, am sure you all must be busy with christmas preparation or planning a Christmas holiday with your little one... Christmas refreshes lots of my childhood memories as being Convent student (Carmelite) have spent my early days with decorating Christmas Crib, taking part in Christmas skits and singing carols..

Yes singing carols with cupping hands together and standing straight and performing during Christmas day celebration. I use to always look for Santa and and would be wide awake till midnight waiting for him and apparently being ore anxious for the gifts I would receive. Yes like all kids I had a Santa Knocking at window, keeping gifts under my pillow and filling my socks with loads of sweets.... And one fine day I got to know that my Santa is none other than but my 'Santa Mom'.

How I wish to relive those days again. Well, I can definitely recreate the magic of Santa and Christmas Carols with my littleone. I know she'll be not able to sing to perfect or even pronounce the word properly or also not able to understand the words but will enjoy humming with me.. Below are some of my favourite carols / Christmas Songs which I grew up listening and singing them.

Erishka's 1st Christmas!
Baby's 1st Christmas

It's baby's first Christmas,
It's somethin' to see,
Mommy and Daddy,
Trimmin' baby's Christmas tree.
Baby's big brother,
Is busy with his toys,
He's shinin' up the chimney,
For Santa Claus!

It's baby's first Christmas,
And oh, what a joy,
Shopping all around,
For every pretty toy.
It's a very special Christmas,
A blessing from above,
It's baby's first Christmas,
A Christmas full of love!

It's baby's first Christmas,
And oh, what a joy,
Shopping all around,
For every pretty toy.
It's a very special Christmas,
A blessing from above,
It's baby's first Christmas,
A Christmas full of love!
Christmas Craft by my Nephew Rishabh

All I want for Christmas
Is my two front teeth ...

Every body Pauses and stares at me
These two teeth are gone as you can see
I don't know just who to blame for this catastrophe!
But my one wish on Christmas Eve is as plain as it can be!

All I want for Christmas
Is my two front teeth,
My two front teeth,
See my two front teeth!

Gee, if I could only
Have my two front teeth,
Then I could wish you
"Merry Christmas."
It seems so long since I could say,
"Sister Susie sitting on a thistle!"
Gosh oh gee, how happy I'd be,
If I could only whistle
(Thhhh, thhhh, thhhh, thhhhhh)

All I want for Christmas
Is my two front teeth,
My two front teeth,
See my two front teeth.

Gee, if I could only
Have my two front teeth,
Then I could wish you
"Merry Christmas!"

Last year our family Trip to 'Pondycherry' Christmaas Time
A Boy is Born in Bethlehem!

A Boy is Born in Bethlehem!
Allelujah! Allelujah!
And joy is in Jerusalem,
Allelujah! Allelujah!

And there He lay in manger poor,
Allelujah! Allelujah!
Whose rein shall last for ever-more,
Allelujah! Allelujah!

The ass and ox and all the heard,
Allelujah! Allelujah!
Knew well that Boy to be the Lord!
Allelujah! Allelujah!

And kings from out the East there were,
Allelujah! Allelujah!
With gold and frankincense and myrrh
Allelujah! Allelujah!

He lived like us in form and dress,
Allelujah! Allelujah!
Without our taint of wickedness.
Allelujah! Allelujah!

He came our souls to purify,
Allelujah! Allelujah!
And bring us safe to bliss on high
Allelujah! Allelujah!

Therefore let us with one accord,
Allelujah! Allelujah!
On this His Birthday praise the Lord!
Allelujah! Allelujah!

Carol of the bells

Hark! how the bells
Sweet silver bells
All seem to say,
"Throw cares away."
Christmas is here
Bringing good cheer
To young and old
Meek and the bold

Ding, dong, ding, dong
That is their song
With joyful ring
All caroling
One seems to hear
Words of good cheer
From ev'rywhere
Filling the air

Oh how they pound,
Raising the sound,
O'er hill and dale,
Telling their tale,
Gaily they ring
While people sing
Songs of good cheer
Christmas is here
Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas
Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas

On, on they send
On without end
Their joyful tone
To ev'ry home

[Repeat from the beginning]

Ding, dong, ding, dong

Santa Please Stop Here!

Back Door Santa

I'm your
Back door Santa
I make my run
At the break of day
They call me
Back door Santa
I make my run
At the break of day
I keep
The little girls happy
While the boys
Are out to play

Well
I ain't like
Old Saint Nick
He don't come
But once a year
(Once a year)
Well
I ain't like
Old Saint Nick
He don't come
But once a year

I come runnin'
With my presents
Every time
You call me dear

I kept some change
In my pocket
When the jumpin's
Goin' on
I gave a few pennies
So we could be alone
I kept that door open
In case anyone
Smelled a mouse
'Cause Santa's
In some trouble
There ain't no chimney
In the house

They call me
Back door Santa
I make my run
At the break of day
They call me
Back door Santa
I make my run
At the break of day
I keep
The little girls happy
While the boys
Are out to play

Jingle bells, jingle bells

Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bobtail ring'
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight!

Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way.
Oh! what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.
Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way;
Oh! what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.

A day or two ago
I thought I'd take a ride
And soon, Miss Fanny Bright
Was seated by my side,
The horse was lean and lank
Misfortune seemed his lot
He got into a drifted bank
And then we got upsot.

A day or two ago,
The story I must tell
I went out on the snow,
And on my back I fell;
A gent was riding by
In a one-horse open sleigh,
He laughed as there I sprawling lie,
But quickly drove away.

Now the ground is white
Go it while you're young,
Take the girls tonight
and sing this sleighing song;
Just get a bobtailed bay
Two forty as his speed[b]
Hitch him to an open sleigh
And crack! you'll take the lead.
Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bobtail ring'

What fun it is to ride and sing

Love yourself 'mumma'!

With the never-ending work at home and ever increasing demands my our little ones, we find it hard to find the much needed 'Me Space'. We are always tagging with our kid or discuss topics related to our little ones. My shopping list have automatically shifted my focus from cosmetics and lingerie to baby toiletries and kids clothes.

So, this how conveniently we have replaced our needs with theirs never ending demands. So it's high time , that we think about 'Me-time-' and start taking care of our self. We as a home maker of family are the fulcrum of the entire system at the 'Home Front'.

My hubby always reminds me of taking care of myself. And when he is at home during weekends, it's like a bliss! He takes care of my daughter so that I nap for few hours in noon, visit parlor and relax for sometime, visit my friend's place or do my meditation.

I urge all new moms not to give lame excuses like you don't have time for 'yourself', because you need to make time for yourself. No one else can do good to yourself except you. So stop cribbing , blaming! Step out, open new doors, meet new people and learn something new and rediscover yourself apart from being mother. Like the good old saying goes, 'A happy mom raises happy child'.  And you are responsible for your own happiness.

So before any break down happens, start taking care of yourself, starting loving yourself. Meet your friends, go for a shopping without your kid, go clubbing with your old friends, get back to your hobbies and if you wish you can have a real long chat with your good old best friend.

This time make a New Year resolution to enjoy 'Me-Time' and love yourself!!!

Mompreneurs Pamper yourself with "Chamki"

As I have been saying it time and again, Mompreneurs Meet III - High On Heels will be different than any of our previous 'Momprenerus Meet'. Yes! For the very obvious reason, that is to celebrate entrepreneurial spirit of mompreneurs and give them an opportunity to pamper themselves while marking the year end.

You have been running around from one part of town to another for business purpose, calling up your vendors to track orders, managing staff (grievances, leaves, salary), participating in networking meets, reverting number calls, satisfying your customer, filling tax, paying bills, preparing favorite pie for your child, preparing kids for exams, taking them out for play and list is endless.  Yes, mompreneurs deserve it all for above things mentioned and taking one step ahead and reigning the success of being entrepreneur as well as for balancing family and kids at the same time.

Mompreneurs Meet III gives you an opportunity to take timeout from daily mundane and pamper yourself at Chamki Kiosk during the event along with business networking on the common ground.

Looking forward to all lovely mompreneurs for Business Networking and to squeeze in some 'Me-time'.

Yes, I am Proud To Be A Mompreneur!

Heylos to lovely moms, below is the beautiful article written by Milan-Babyblog writer at MyBabyCart.com. Please sit back, sip a cup of coffee while looking outside your workspace window. Am sure you would enjoy reading this wonderful write-up. I cannot agree more to whatever is penned by her. Yes it keeps me motivated and encourages me to do pursue what am doing now.

Proud to be a Mompreneur!
By Milan Singhal @Babycart.com

When I reflect on my past, I feel glad that I took the right decisions at the right time. I look myself in the mirror and the reflection shows a determined woman who refuses to be known as a homemaker throughout her life. "My whole life revolves around my kids and spouse" was not an acceptable idea to me. "I spend the golden years of my life in doing household chores" was not my aim in life. I did not agree to that lifestyle.

I never ignored my family in the process. It was, it is and will always remain my priority. So I found a solution by creating a niche for myself – whether it’s from home, or from a little office tucked at the corner of the road, I started running my business operations with a strong will.
My hobbies which I am pro at became my business model and helped me in becoming my own boss. I used social media to my advantage and started marketing my products. I made plans – plans to succeed, to better myself with each passing day so every night I sleep satisfied and wakes up next morning fully charged to take on the day. Read more>>
About Milan:
I am proud mother of two girls and a freelancer by profession. An alumni of Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, I have dabbled in various publications before started blogging for MyBabyCart, which provides a platform, where through my words I am able to reach and help hundreds and thousands of mothers by writing on topics close to my heart, be it providing answers to a query as simple as “gifting ideas for kids of different age-group” to little tricky ones like “time-management tips for working mothers”. I hope that my blogs help as much as they entertain our dear mommies. Keep reading, keep liking and yes, keep commenting on my blogs! Read more>>

Our mantra is "Ideas. Value. Results." signifying an endless cycle of adding value to you.

On a personal note Uma is a prolific reader, loves to enjoy a cup of tea with her closest friends and can at the drop of a hat, take off on a family trip with them. Also once she is connected with an individual and if the frequency is matched she can talk non-stop ;-) She is a caring mother, strong entrepreneur, loves to travel and adding to if may I call her a 'Techie Mompreneur'.
Moreover, she is passionate about empowering women and we are proud to have her as one of our Sponsors for Mompreneurs Meet III - High On Heels ... Thanks Uma for supporting our initiative to create an ecosystem for mompreneurs. Buy tickets here>>
